I have a 175tf tracker i bought new in 2012 and it has taken a beating at reelfoot. I like the value in a Tracker boat. That being said...no offence meant, that heritage is one ugly boat!haaa I looked at the picture and instantly smelled naugahyde and heard cordaroy pants!!

Having a background from the boating industry I'll try and give a non bias answer. My brother in law and sister both work for a major boat brand. The B.I.L is married to a different sister that works elsewhere. My sister is an executive.

Simply put without being a jerk, Tracker has been known as an entry level boat with a price point to attract newer buyers to the market. Many people purchase, own, and love them. Others buy them as a stepping stone to get them through to the next boat.

Why the low price point? It boils down to a couple things. Fit and finish is huge. They are not known for it. You can only get a Mercury motor on it. They use thinner gauge aluminum and don't tend to build 2x hulls like other companies. They are owned by John Morris.

If you get a chance, go to a boat show where you can compare apples. You see a better understanding. I was at a show a month ago, walked down a very nicely light walking and there for everyone to see was a brand new black tracker boat. Look down the side and you could see 7 different waves that went on with the aluminum. Stupid place to showcase that boat color. Once you saw it, you could pick out similar issues on other colors.

Most of their showroom packages are under powered. This makes the price appear better. One good thing they do is their pricing is the same for all dealers.

Tracker is the most sold used boat on the market. It goes back to the entry level thing. They tend to not hold their value very well.

I like mine also 1991 model bass tracker 16 PRO 16 it just has a 25 HP Johnson motor but I don't need to go any faster than 22mph anyway. I mostly use trolling motor anyway. It ain't pretty but it is paid fer and it's mine.

I love my tracker. That being said, we tourney fish out of a 521c. Prior to that we had a p198t ranger aluminum. These are a totally different class of boat. I'll take my tracker to places I would never consider taking one of the rangers. As long as you are aware of what you're getting theres no issue with a tracker. The fit and finish isnt near as good but with the 60hp 4stroke merc, the right prop and just me it'll do 39mph and fish just fine.

The New Tracker I talked about in a earlier post....I bought it new in 84....it was 16 ft. long and had a 50 merc on it....It was one of their first ones....riveted hull ....i fished it hard for 22 years with no problems. I kept it clean and serviced. I kept it in my shop when not in use. It was a good boat and i liked it. I paid 5500 for it new.....when i traded it in in 06 they allowed 3500 for it. I traded for a new G3 eagle 185 with a 115 4 stroke yamaha. In 11, I traded that in on a new SeaArk. I still miss the old Tracker sometimes.

If you take care of it, you should have no problem. This reminds me of a Chevy guy and a Ford guy and a Dodge guy, they will only buy their favorite. We all know people who have had Fords that were unhappy and we all know some that owned Dodge's were unhappy so why doesn't everyone just buy a Chevy!!!
FISHING, no better way to spend the day!

The reason I was making fun of the color was, my great uncle, who passed last winter, had one. The last time I ran into him at reelfoot it still looked nearly new. The old ones had the Bass Pro Shops logo like burned into the back of the seats. I remember thinking then that that color combo came out when they still made harvest gold colored refridgerators.....
