    Default Which rod

I'm looking to add a 16 ft rod to my crank pulling setup. That way have an 8, 12, and 16. Question I have is which rod. Have about narrowed it down to either B&M pst or southern crappie rod. Which holds up the best. Thanks

You have it narrowed down to 2 very good rods. If you go with Southerns I would go with the heavy 2oz series.

Southern, I mistakenly bought PST's when I started cranking and have replaced at least 4 or 5 tips. I have a set of 8 16' SCR's I troll with and they're tough as nails

Southern Crappie SCR163T will be available in 2-3 weeks. It will be worth the wait. I have used a prototype and just like his others, tough as nails.

Were your southern crappie rods the heavier duty model?

Is the SCR163T better for pulling cranks than the regular by that much. I pull from front of boat until can upgrade trolling motor. Looking to keep the 4' gap I currenly have between lines.

Yes, it's going to be stiffer because it was designed to carry heavier weight when pushing or pulling. My regular 14's pull cranks ok but get a good bend. The T model will not flex as bad when pulling. A lot like PST. I would wait for that rod.
