Congratulations! I’ve only got another 28 years and I’ll be ready to join ya. Lol
My dad retired a few years ago and when people ask him how it feels he still tells them “it’s not all it’s cracked up to be.....it’s a WHOLE lot better!”

    Congrats again!

I'm glad to hear that your ship came in and you weren't at the airport. I look forward to it but not sure about several things that I still need to work on. Enjoy your time. Should you find yourself unhappy with what you sometimes do, do something for someone else. You have the time and they have the need. Connect the dots. God Bless you Brother, enjoy your time.

I will have been retired 10 years come July. Worked until my full retirement (65 and 10 months) I love it. Wish I had done
it in my 20s. The only time I get board is from Christmas to Feb. 15. I run out of things to do. I fish 2 to 2 1/2months in the
spring and the same in the fall. Have a yard, flower beds, garden, pool, and other task that leave me very little time. From
being semi idle the 6 weeks mentioned, it will take me a month to get back to full steam. So they are telling you right about
not laying down. Congratulations and enjoy.
    Tell'em I'll be there.

Been retired 6 yrs but like "G" have a small job on the side (till may) . First thing you should consider ? Are you healthy enough to retire ? Never knew there was so much that we/I was only half doing . The reason they have retirement parties is so everyone will know you are available to fix, repair, pick-up, mow, plant, and pick. (harvest if you from up north ). Tell the folks you are not retiring but are changing careers to become O.R.S. agent and then block all phone calls that are not family/ fishing buddies . Drop all land lines and park behind the house .I must go now as a budding young O.R.S. trainee needs my assistance on a simple division problem . Seems he can't put equal numbers of fish in two coolers . Being an " Outdoor Recreation Specialist" is a highly sought after job, so let non of these 2,912 trainees on this site know the party date . p.s the secret password for all O.R.S. agents is "tums/Rolaids . Welcome agent drfish watch this site for future assignments .Fish on! . .Name: tippah 3-21-15.jpg

Congrats, you now have a new job and a new boss. That boss is you so use it to it's fullest. Push yourself hard to enjoy life, kids, grands, wife, fishing, gardening or any other thing you want. Don't waste you time just sitting, I wish you many long days but know that they are numbered so make good use of them.
