Tks skeetbum for the post, I only live 35 mins from Eds place of business and I'm getting ready to get some 16ft rods of his. I've herd a lot of good things about Ed and his rods

Those of you that have seen my rig, you know that it has had some thought behind it. I have 3 pairs of BGJP's in 8, 10, and 12 foot. I also run 4 Shakespeare seven footers straight behind and a heavier head than those out the side. What I have been lacking is the 6 footers to fill the inside of the long lines. I have looked long and hard for a one piece rod that would fit the bill and so far had come up dry. Some were too expensive, others too hard an action, others too soft. I have heard many reviews on the Southern Crappie rods. How easy a guy Ed was to work with and the quality of the rods. On the seventh I made a phone call to Ed and asked about these rods, and wound up ordering a pair. Here it is 4 days later and take two guesses what was on my front porch? You guessed it. I couldn't be happier. The action is just what I was looking for to troll jigs with and the quality is as good as it gets for this price range. Better than expected actually. I like my BGJP's, but I'm glad I went outside my comfort zone to bring these home. Not sure if he's a sponsor, and surely don't want to take away from any other rods we have all heard of here, but I have to give credit where credit is due. Keep them in mind.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around

Southern Crappie makes some good rods. I have some 14's I've been spider rigging with for a couple years. Just received a pr of 9's to add to my long lining setup..

'm glad you like them. I've had no complaints with mine. I'm looking forward to hearing how they work in your system. Hurry up and try them!
Ed rods is hard to beat. I've got the six 16' two 14' and two 12'. I used these for Spider rigging Long lining and pulling cranks.

I’ve used Southern Crappie Rods for probably 10 years. I’ve broke some, had clients wind them up in the trolling motor, had them stepped on, you name it. Any rod out there would fail under those circumstances. The way Ed has always dealt with me sets him and his rods apart from others out there.
I got on Ed 3-4 years ago telling him I needed a heavier action pile for trolling cranks. Obviously I wasn’t the only one wanting those. He came out with the “T” rods that set the standard for crankbait rods. Now other companies are copying the “T” line.

I love my southerns and I have over 30 of them. They are the only rod I will buy.
I have a set of 14'ers that use spider rigging and pulling crankbaits and I love them! They are some kinda tough!
