When talking about spinning reel in what is a Casting rod could be a mistake with a large Fish...... I have been researching Making Custom Rods from blanks ==== the First step is to determine if the rod is going to be Casting or Spinning --- then the rod has to find what is the Back Bone in order to find its streignth to place the Guides ... Spinning guides are under the Bottom and Casting are on the Top !!!! If the eyes are not correct it can be Seen as the rod might have a bend to the Right or Left, that will severely Compromise the true Strength. Rod Failure anyone!!!!

I like the 12 ft BNM Richard Williams model. Kinda heavy to be holding all day but great for my style of fishing.

10 ft bnm with a zebco t11 spooled with 6 pound stren blue and a black/ chartreuse jig tied directly on. TIP.... I save several sets of sliding rings over the days and just work them onto my foam gripped rods to move the reel to the rear. When I retire a rod I transfer the rings to my next rod.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

I have been using BnM 12' and 14' for years now. Had a friend show me a new Jenko crappie rod the other day and I'm thinking about giving them a try.

I use the 11' middle seat Ozark Tony Edgar jig poles , will swing a 2 lb Crappie in no problem . They are still sensitive , great for vertical jigging . Tried some overs but they don't compare .

I used mine so much it ain't gotta name on it plus it is bout 9 inches shorter than it useta be. I believe it was an original Richard Williams model somewhere between 10-12 feet in length.

Thanks for everyone's input. I have narrowed it down to a Bucks Ultimate and a Sam Heaton SS. Does anyone know which has the most backbone or stiffness?
