The composite shaft is better than the break aways of the MGs steel shaft which can still get bent. The MK powerdrives are far and above the MG. Only thing seems MG have more power/thrust rating than MK but I couldn't prove it...No problems with MG transom mounts though, yet. The skeg on the MK kinda gets in the way of the transducer beam some.
The reason I tried the MK is b/c had bad relations with repair and lack of customer concern. Sending trollers back in forth on UPS ain't gonna happen wit me. They did send plenty of parts but poor clutch design required frequent fixes that got aggravating. Then when the lectronics gliched they said it couldn't be fixed and was obsolete anyway. I could only imagine what nonmechanical slobs got stuck with.
We didn't come to look and learn, we came to trun and burn!...DL's piping crew.
