    Post Board Rules Of Conduct

The following is an amended version of the rules of conduct, for members posting on this forum and the site in general.

Per Ed Moes - Site Owner and Administrator:

    Crappie.com is my website -
These are my rules, and I insist on Crappie.com being a FAMILY oriented “Teach a person how to fish” web site, that any age fisherperson can visit.

If anyone breaks these rules, their posts may be edited or deleted (at the discretion of the Moderator) ... and they can/will be banned, simply at my discretion, if they continue to break these rules.

Plain and simple: No personal attacks will be tolerated, and nothing that a child cannot view will be tolerated. (ie - foul language, inappropriate pictures, inappropriate Member ID names, etc)

In an effort to ensure that “friendliness prevails over everything else” on the Crappie.com boards, no personal attacks, or even negative connotations towards others, will be tolerated, whatsoever. This is not a threat, this simply will be the guidelines used by our moderators and myself. So, in other words, do not be surprised if your post is edited or deleted. It may even happen by accident. Do not be offended. We’re just trying to preserve the intention and spirit of the site ... the sharing of information, promotion of the sport, the making of friends whom share our love and devotion to Crappie fishing, and the promotion and preservation of this site's integrity and dignity.

So, with that in mind, your posts may be edited or deleted at the drop of a hat, if you post anything that even mildly smells like, or barely resembles a personal attack or negative connotation towards another. We will not debate what we’ve done, although we may or may not provide an explanation."

Thanks all, you’re a great bunch and I hate for differing opinions to create enemies.

OK, I’m going to try to be brief.

You must be a Crappie.com “Member Sponsor” in order to mention or link to a business, or your companies products in your signature. To become a sponsor you must sign up for the $49.95 Sponsorship Program. This entitles you to a Business Card sized signature and a link to a website. Inappropriate businesses and websites (porn….) will not be included. The appropriateness for inclusion in the Crappie.com Small Business Directory will be at my discretion alone.

Subscribe to the Crappie.com Member Sponsor - Click Here

Please realize, this only allows you to advertise in your signature, and on the Sponsor Members Classified Ads forum.

NEW: If you are new Member Sponsor, please PM me and we will craft an introductory Thread together we can post on the forum of your choice, Main Forum, or a State Forum.

For everyone’s sakes, I still do not want big long Signatures though. So please limit your images and links to no more than the size of a Business card, plus one line of text/link information.

I think you all are great, your contributions over the years have been more than gracious, I’m not trying to take advantage of anyone, I’m just trying to run the best darn family orientated fishing website on the Internet. Now anyone who has a hard time, and is a reasonable contributor that can not afford the sponsorship, please PM me and I’ll work something out. I'm not trying to take advantage of anyone.

Please PM me any questions. Please PM me infractions as well. And no worries, if I don't address those that do not abide by the rules immediately, I will eventually. I'd rather do things right, than do things fast.

    Thanks and God Bless.

Read below if you are interested in supporting the site, and also do not want to see the Google Ads.

I have been listening. Some of you do not like all the google ads on the boards. It slows you down, and just interferes with all the fun. But to me, it's a necessary evil. Those goofy google ads are a big source of income. The sponsors at the top of the page provide prizes that I give away on the site, but google ads make me some money to help pay for the hosting costs.

Anyway, NOW you will be able to sign up and not get view any of those google ads. You will have to sign up in the Crappie.com Business Directory, and I will add you to the new Style. Sorry, but it will cost the basic listing rate of $9.95, I don't think that too much, otherwise you can simply view the ads.

Compare Memberships | Become a supporting Crappie.com Member

To sign up it's a two step process. You have to create a member login, yes another one (but use the same name as on the board please), and then you can add a listing.

If you sign up for the Basic $9.95 listing, you'll not see the google ads, if you sign up for the $49.95 listing I'll add sponsor to your Title on the board.

I really only created this to improve the site guys. You all are great, and if you don't want to see the google ads, and if you want to support the site, please sign up.

Hope this helps, and thanks as always for your participation on this great site.

    Exclamation Current Site Rules Policies

    Forum Posting Rules and Etiquette:

Crappie.com is members only web site – not a public forum for anyone that wants to come in spouting their strong right or left wing political, sexual or religious views. It has nothing to do with censorship or freedom of speech, these are simply our agreed to rules of engagement. So please do not post or participate in political, sexual or religious comments that can in any way induce debate. Prayers sent to those in need ARE allowed, and encouraged.
Do not post anything that is not child friendly. In other words, do not post anything rude, unfriendly, angered, inappropriate, disturbing, disrespectful, pornographic, sexual, slanderous, racial, or vulgar. Tongue in cheek razzing is OK only if it is obvious, and you know for fact recipient will not take offense.
In an effort to ensure that “friendliness prevails over everything else” no personal attacks or even negative connotations towards others will be tolerated. Do not negatively agitate or provoke other members. Do not be surprised if your post is edited, deleted or locked (by any Moderator, Super Moderator or Administrator). It may even happen by accident. Do not be offended. We’re just trying to preserve the intention and spirit of the site. We will not debate what we’ve done, although we may or may not provide an explanation. I hate for differing opinions to create enemies.
Replies, criticism or comments about any rule enforcement actions should be done via PM (Private Message) to site Moderators or Administrators (you can always PM me, Slab, about anything). If you have a complaint, comment or criticism about one of the Moderators or Super Mods, do not post on the forum, PM me, Slab, site owner/administrator.

Do not post any potentially slanderous comments about any Public or Private Companies, Organizations, Corporations or Individuals.
Do not plagiarize the work of others in the way of articles, stories, contest or pictures. You may quote a portion of an article, but you have to provide appropriate credit for such.
If a forum post is against rules, you should not reply, quote it or discuss it inside the forum. Instead you should click “report this post” link and notify forum moderators to take over.
Filtered words are replaced by asterisks (*****). This means it is in our filter list and you should not use that word in the forum. Do not attempt to bypass the filter list by writing the word in a different syntax or form.
If you don’t like a member in the forum, you should put him in your “ignore list” (look in your settings, upper right corner) and you will no longer hear from them again.
Do not advertise in your posts. This is a fine line and difficult to administer. You can mention a cool new product, or an ebay listing, or your wifes new embroidery business, but please do not turn it into an advertisement. Also, if you’re brand new to the site even that might be considered advertising.
Advertising Note: If you are a Sponsor Member, you are allowed to post advertisements and specials in the “Sponsored Members Classified Ads” forum. And you are allowed to advertise and include A URL in your signature.
All signatures should not be larger than the approximate size of a Business Card.
Spamming is not allowed. No links to other Fishing Message Boards, or competitors are allowed, even if you are an advertiser. Crappie.com is not a launch pad for your website.
If you make jigs, even if you are a Sponsor Member, to distinguish between advertising and posting about your jigs, please do not include pricing in your posts. You may include pricing in your post on the “Personal Classified Ads” forum, and if your a Sponsor Member, on the “Sponsor Member Classified Ads” forum.
If you have a business you can not post your business’s products in the “Personal Classified Ads board”. You must become a Sponsor Member and post on the “Sponsor Member Classified Ads” forum
Do not post the same thing on multiple crappie.com message boards. This looks like you are spamming the board.
Do not post personal information like addresses, maps, last names, phone numbers or email addresses.
You may only have one User name on Crappie.com. If you are banned from Crappie.com you are not allowed to come back using a different user name.

All these rules apply to public posts, Avatars, Signatures and also to PM’s (Private Messages). If you receive a PM that breaks these rules do not hesitate to forward it to me Slab, the site administrator.
What happens if you do not follow rules? Well, it will be up to our discretion. Your post may simply be removed or edited, or you may be banned temporarily, or you may be banned permanently. It all depends on the type of infraction, how long you’ve been a member, and how many previous infractions you’ve had. But feel free to post, we are not dictators, and will give you every chance to make good.
The best thing to remember is that we want to have a nice friendly, family orientated web site, and if you keep that in mind, you will not have any problems here on Crappie.com. Please go fishing, and when you can’t, come visit America’s Crappie Community here at Crappie.com. Crappie fishermen and women, are the best.
