    Hey Bill,

Would I be able to run the Aurora and my 2 28 watt bow and stern lights off one deep marine battery all night? Or would you recommend its own battery. I use one battery alone for my troll motor and another for the bow stern lights.

Variables such as battery size, condition, wiring size and run lengths, resistance created through switches, connectors, bulb contacts, etc. ect. ect. would all have to be known for a honest answer. If you are not having any problems with running your bow and stern nav. lights off of a dedicated battery, adding the Aurora would probably not be a problem. A test run would be easy to do, just don't take the battery with the navigation lights down to the point where you lose full brightness on the nav. lighting.

You're going to be amazed at how efficient the Aurora actually is. Battery drain is not going to be on your radar after a while. Prepare to be spoiled.

Thanks Bill, good to know it is not hard on the battery.

Ok Bill, I just ordered one because of your great review. $134.79 includes shipping. That was about an hour ago and they already emailed me about a minute ago, that it is being shipped. Wow!

If that is the case, what service. I will let you know how it goes once it is in the water. I can't wait. I am going night fishing tonight because the pre-spawn is on at the nearest lake. We will be using a florescent light above the water...lol

Cool. You'll be wondering what's in that little box that gets delivered. Surely it can't be a light.

It comes with an small eye bolt, and the body is threaded to accept it. I used an electrical zip-strap to attach the power cord to the eye bolt. Positioned the cord prior to tightening up the zip-strap so that the light hung perfectly straight down utilizing the power cord to suspend the light. The light only weighs a few ounces, and the quality of the power cord was way above what could have been used. You can tell that the light is quality in every aspect.

PO'd a buddy the other night. I didn't get out until late, and he wanted us to fish along side each other and visit. He was a happy camper for several hours, until I pulled up along side of him, set up, and the Aurora started drawing away his bait ball. We wound up unplugging his green quartz.

That green glow is addicting. I can close my eyes right now and see that green circle of light. Wish I could go tonight. Good luck to ya

Got my new Nucli-eye Aurora in the mail today. First impression is that the thing is built to be run over by a truck. Very solid aluminum cut and cord.

Can't wait to get it in the water,

Couple questions directed to Crappiman and Boatstall.

Boatstall,Do you feel the Crappie were suspended deeper than expected due to the extreme light output from the aurora? As crappieman stated about vision sensitivity.
How deep was the water column?

Crappieman, My regular crappie hole is aprox 7-16' Deep. Do you think the aurora will be to bright for this?

    General question,
What do you guys think about suspending the
Aurora aprox 15' out from the boat from a foam noodle float, held in place by a simple 3oz weight.
While useing something like the Nucli-eye Extreme to lite up fishing line? Or will the auroa's ambient glow above the water be suficient to lite up my line?

ezdaar, Please don't use that reference as to my observation of those fish, to consider any light, as I had all the lights out, and it was just to be able to see what they looked like, and look at them from the fish perspective, not as an actual fishing experience. I also don't think a guy with a scuba rig, blowing exhaust bubbles, with 5 times the normal lights above on the boat, would be your normal scenario to evaluate the response of the fish. I even stated that it looked like a "spaceship". I also had no reference as to what depth the fish would have been at normally, as they had just started showing up as I was running low on air. I have to assume that normally the fish move in below any supply of bait fish, and then feed up into them.

We now use the other lights for night swims with the grandkids. The Aurora is the only light we fish with.

I personally have not seen what the staging depth perspective of crappie are, relative to any particular depth/light source. You would need a camera for evaluating that.

If you are concerned about the amount of light, you could always use a couple of strips of electrical tape to adjust the volume of light. I don't think that you will want to, as I have used the aurora in 4 feet of water and had no problems.

As to your question about putting the light out 15' from the boat on a noodle, I have never tried it. I like having the light hanging off the bow of the boat, so that we can fish around the circle of light. Most fish come from the transition perimeter of the circle of light. And often the spot changes, so I would think it would be more difficult to fish, the further away it was.

There is a good bit of ambient light available for watching your line if you don't get the light too deep. I run the light about 12 to 18" deep, and it provides a really cool green glow. Some lines show up better that others.

Sorry I have not been watching this topic guys. What emails and where were they sent please? I generally get all emails to the web site and answer them within hours unless out of town in the Mtn's mining with no web service. What questions did you have?
