I have met one yesterday that recognized me that does not post and another today that does. Both were from Russellville , just can't remember names . Proud to see the one today help 2 old guys ( in their 80's) load up their boat. They said they had been buddies since the 1940's. One guy was on a walker and was a Korean Vet like my dad was. I asked them if they had any luck. They said maybe had enough for their supper. Well I kept 10 Crappie and a Bass this afternoon. On my way out I stopped at their camp and gave them my catch. The older gentleman that could get around took them and shook my hand with a big smile. Sure feels good to see old friends fishing together and hope the other Crappie .commer and I made their day a little better.

On another forum, this vet stationed in Afganastan was saying that his wife here in the states was taking their 8 year old fishing weekly. But missed his dad etc.
The tread got quite long to say the least. Shipped the younster a free fishing lite along with a sticker. The boy went out of gourd bragging to his dad
about when he gets home that they can go night fishing. And let his dad know that he stuck the sticker on dad's boat. Got a tear jerking thankyou in the mail

When my old dad got too old to fish by himself and has outlived all his buddys he would some times hang out at Carter Cove (Nimrod) and usually enough people that had just "not enough for a mess" would give him some crappie. His favorite three things in life were, Church, fishing and eating crappie. I'm not sure about which came first. The wife and I usually give some fish away. Hope the favors will be returned when I get "too old to fish"
