Too Early?
I know, its never to early to fish
. I fished hard today just to boat two small dinks.
Ice has been totally off for about 8 days. Surface temp now at 51. This 125 acre lake that's shallow is great crappie producer. Usually by the end of March I'm slaying them in the middle of lake throwing jigs tipped with a beemoth. I guess it was just one of those off days that make the good days seem that much better.

I managed a few today, but fish were tight lipped, and very scattered. I will only get better from here on out.

crappies
Been fishing 3 days straight got my limit everyday. And caught bunch of dinks of course. Down on Patoka Lake. Slow biting since cold front showed up. They had a bass tournament down there today, talked with some of the guys rough for them. But it will get better.

Us too, but if this 60 degree weather holds on for a while we might just see soft water in a week or so. Hopefully.

If the ice is just 8 days off the lake, you should be fishin' for Pike, Wallice, and Mucksie... those Speckled needs a little time to warm up yanno!
