The white water boats around here are 22 to 26 foot aluminum hulls, completely enclosed (water rolls clear over the top sometimes), with 400 to 800 horse power engines. The owners remove the glass windshields and install thick plexiglas because the water over the bow will knock out the glass, not good. I have seen these boat go completely submerged in running the Snake river's Granite and Wild Sheep Rapids. Now guess what? Most of them run stick steering.

I have an 88 model Panfisher Stick Steer with a 35 Merc. with Tilt and Trim. In rough water just trim the motor farther out and cut back on the throttle a little and rough water is safer and more bearable.
I sure like not having to get up and move seats just to go to another fishing spot. We average hitting about 15 brushpiles or stakebeds a morning!
Perfect for two and 3 is still comfortable.

Anyone riding a SeaArk Forecast 156? Brochures really look good.
I DO MY BEST PROOFREADING RIGHT AFTER I HIT THE "SUBMIT" BUTON
My guess is they figure if they're gonna be that ignernt, they might as well go all the way.
Nah, they prolly do that because you can go stop to stop in one quick movement as opposed to 2.5 to 3.0 full turns of the wheel.
No way I'd want one for the resevoirs around here. Maybe the oxbows on the River. No matter what water you fish in a stick steer.....at some point you're gonna find out why they say they will beat you to death in waves. Saw an old tri-hull Ranger or Skeeter that had been restored that was set up stick steer on Grenada last year. Had one of those 115 hp Towers of Power on a 15 or 16' boat. When he hammered on that thing he was 6' clean out of the water before planing off. Looked fun......and ignernt all at the same time.
The WE does look sweet if your fishing style and water would allow for it. Buy what you want of course, but realize that any boat is a compromise. To me, the Stick Steer just forces more compromises than most.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
