    Default Mepps Spinners

Has anyone ever used the small inline Mepps Spinners to catch crappie when they move up to spawn? If so, what size and what colors worked best for you?

I've never used these during the spawn but they seem like they should work, when the crappie are staging or on the beds.

I'd recommend size 00 to size 1. This is just based on what I've used before and has worked for me, although I do catch more on jigs and minnows.

I got a couple real small mepps at times they are better than a jig. I don't use it that much most of the time I kind of forget about trying it since I use jigs so much and prefer them most of the time.

Forget about Meeps and save your money, you can buy 2 Roostertails for the price of one Mepps!

We use 1/16th oz roadrunners when the fish are staging just before they go to spawn. Our favorite color is blk/char., but we have caught them on several other colors also. They are great all around baits. We have caught blk. bass, white bass, smallmouth and catfish while crappie fishing.
