When I go crappie fishing, night fishing under a light or even just slip bobbers during the day I only take "ONE" kind of hook.Eagle Claw size 6 Aberdeen Gold. The twist in the shank and the way that it will straighten out when pulled out of snagged brush definantly had me "hooked",Especially when I thought that I was buying 100 of them for $3.00 and won the bid on Ebay, since nobody else bidded and got 1,000.lol.What do you love to use?
"Garden Hackler"lol
I actually don't like the Eagle Claws, the design of the point turns in to the shank slightly (as in the Eagle's talon). In my mind, it seems that would slightly hinder the leading edge from biting into the fish's mouth in some cases.
When I can find them, I use the Mustad. Got low the other day and bought a 50 pack of the BPS XPS, which has the right design (straight point) but I tend to believe it's an inferior product over all.
Keep saying I'm gonna get some of the Sickles from VMC next time I make an order somewhere. Odd thing is, that point turns in slightly like the Eagle Claws, but the ones I've used on jigs will flat out stick a fish. Very, very few misses using them.
Of course, all of the above is just my musings. It's all voodoo anyway, so whatever floats your boat and fits your pocket book will prolly be alright.

Wannabe...v2.0
A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
Is there such a thing as a hook being to sharp?Don't know but, I do know I have never seen or used a hook as sharp as Gamakatsu.
It wouldn't be so dayum hard. If I didn't know what I'm missing. Sometimes I give in, and start all over again. Keepin up with the Jonesin.
