Running change to engineering I guess. Not sure why, but I can't see how it would change the function of the holder any. Seems to still be just as well made. The one's I have do seem to have more of a 'cradle' formed by that cast base.
I had a set of the old ones then ordered a set of the new ones. i asked Scott why they were different and he told me to help in his production process. They are still just as good if not better than the old ones. As a matter of fact this past Saturday I had all 8 poles hung solid in one tree top that snuck up on me and I was in about a 15 mph wind and not one problem out of the holders. I thought for sure something was going to break, either a rod or a holder, but nothing did. Made me a believer right there..

That is it. Thanks for answering for me. I will have the site updated soon with new pics. Pricing will change (a little higher) as well but until I get the site updated pricing will remain the same. Thanks to all that have purchased my holders and please let me know if there are any problems.

They look very similar to the BeeReady rod holders.

I have some of the BeeReady's on my pontoon boat. To me the HiTeks are far superior as far as how they are built. Altough I have never had a problem out of either.

Scott Echols,

Can you make some of those for me that will fit a 7/8" rod. I'd like the holders and mount to put on my Ranger rails and the driftmasters t-bars I currently have mounted.

I really like the new rounded look.

I assume the ranger rails are not open ended and would require a different type mount which I can make (two seperate plates). For the drifmaster t-bars, I will check and see how much material I would have to remove to ream a hole to fit the 7/8" bar. Let me experiment and I will get back to you early next week. Send me an e-mail (scottechols@hitekstuff.com) if you would and I can send some pics of the holder to fit on closed rails.

Yes Tom looks like he has taken them from a Great holder to the best now.
I know I wrote to him a few years ago about I wished they were a little deeper where the rod lays in them. These look great. Even the mounts are different now I also like them better now also. As when you tighten them the wider gap should make it better as closing the gap does not take as much pressure as the older type.
I have mine mounted on the side of my Lund. Moved them after the Paris Deal. Talk about nice. There mounted on the T tracks on the side I can take them off the boat in 30 seconds and adjust the along the sides easy.

Thanks to Hi-Tek for the best holders on the market.
Pete
