New Custom Rods....

Thanks Az. I have fished for crappie all my life and could never find rods to fit my fishing so that's why I started to build them. Currently we build cat rods & surf also. But with all the crappie folks on this forum I hope to pare down to a line of crappie specific rods that get the job done and then some! Look for us to break out some new models this year and in the future, we have a great design team in Batson Enterprises that have 6 guy's with a combined 60 years of rod design and fishing expereince....exciting stuff to say the least.

Do you use Rain Shadow blanks?

Yes we use Rainshadow and St.Croix, plus other brands when a customer specifies which they prefer. Our main line of crappie rods are predicated on length/actions selected after fishing them first.

Nice lookin rods, and I speak to both the maker and the user. Tom, if those are your first customs you're in for a treat. Rodmakers stake their reputation on their work and they don't make junk. Only had a couple in my life but loved them both. My first one was stolen, and it had my full name on it. never saw it again. Good luck and many fishes with em.

HaHa LOL!!! I hear ya man....how do ya think all this got started? I only had 38 rods, 5 tackle boxes and 3 boats. Then decided to start building more. Thanks for the reps, no joke everyone that sees the red cedar handles loves them, I cant keep enough on hand, Skips Butternutt handle is darn good lookin too. They really hold up good to wear and look great for years.

May have to look into some 10ft crappie rods that can handle 2 to 5 oz of lead but still feel a lite crappie bite.

Sounds like you need a convertible pole. 10 foot, 2peice with interchangeable tips sections. Wonder if theys makes such uh thing?

I can change barrels on me shotgun. I got spare barrels.

Pete, I built one of these for Skip, 10'-6" Model BP1264F. 10-20lb. Line 1/2-2oz. Lure Moderate action / Med. power rating. Really a great feeling rod for what you are looking for. RX4 graphite/composite blank in matt grey color.
