Thats all we have here on the Delmarva Peninsula small millponds 10-40 acres maybe, old sand pits and the upper reaches of tidal rivers. Most of the ponds we fish are 6-7 ft. we do fish in as deep as 17ft. in the dead of winter in a tidal river. Its great cheap fishing we use jon boats with a small trolling motor. We caught 32 crappie from 10-13 in. sun. afternoon in an old sand and gravel pit. Wish they would do more shows and articles on small water crappie fishing.

well, i fish a little 39 acre lake and the story from our neighbor who has live here since before the lake(he actually hunted where the lake is now) was built said hes caught 12 lb bass, 3 lb crappie, and the smaller upper lake(20 acres) was a 14lb bass caught. ive aso been told of 35lb channels and 2lb brim. ive caught a 20 lber myself, but still searchin for the other bigguns. my best is a 13 1/2 in crappie so far, but well see tomorrow. i have the day off and plan on spending the morning and later in the evening fishing.

Tearemup, If you really want to see a show on small water fishing, contact Russ Bailey from MIdwest Crappie Magazine and put your heads together. You might be pleasantly surprised.

My favorite lake and closest to home. It's in the Chattahoochie National Forest. I think it's about 100 ac.

Maybe a 4' wide by 8' long with a PowerDrive and 2 deep cycles.
    Carpeted 3/4" marine ply deck.
Swivel seat (front or back trolling).
Aluminum rails w/ rod holders mounted.
A company named Hotwoods sells smaller model pontoons that would probably be perfect for you. check out their site. Pro-Tatch.com

. Seen it advertised in the crappie world mag.

I linked to the HydroSport2 in my earlier post.
I looked at those too about 3 months ago.... I think I want to build one though... It'll give me sometihng to do during the winter.

    I'm thinking something like this

With spider rig rod holders, a HB Fishing Buddy, and my Cooler Livewell.

    Maybe a Bimini Top Later.

I can get the pontoons (10 footers) for about $500.00
