I had some Stabil turn dark and I asked the manufacturer how long was the shelf life and they said 2 years.

You mix 1 oz. per 10 gal.of gas. It is also mentioned to use it in my Yamaha owners manual.

I go out maybe 1 or 2 times a week fishing , He told me just cost him $100 to get the water out of his and it was because of the gas he was using, said I needed to start using fuel stabilizer in my fuel,
Do you guys use it in yours ? if so what kind is the best for my YAM. FOUR ?
I know if I store it for awhile I need to use it but right now hope to be able to fish alot , also do you guys use any type of fuel/water separator filter?
if so what kind is the best and easy to change the filters?
    THANKS
My mech told me to use sea-foam. I add each fill up. No problems after 2yr.

Just a word for you guys on the ethonol in the gas. My wife's motorcycle started acting up and she took it in, was the carbs SUPPOSEDLY and the dealership called Yamaha and asked about replacement carbs as the cycle only has less than 5000 miles.

The word from Yamaha they won't replace them!!!!!!!!! Reason because she was using gas with ethanol in it and they won't cover warranty work because of it. So watch out for that crap gas.

Luckily she took it somewhere else and it was just a loose muffler pipe, carbs were clear.

But for Yamaha to come out and say they won't cover damage because someone used gas with ethenol in it, NOT good and they want to increase it to 15% or more.

Stabil was recommended to her with the bike too.

It's virtualy impossible to find gas that is NOT e10 here in VA (at least in Tidewater)... on the up side... they are required to state that it is E10 on the pumps.
