Seems like I need a Shimano Solstice 1000.I have so many rods, lol. From Penn Slammers down to super ultralight rigs.I just wanted an excuse to get another one.lol.These are all over the board though.10' ,5' ,I am leaning towards the 10 footer. And I can put that Shimano Solstice on it.

Like most of you, I have numerous rods of different lengths for different styles of fishing, but my favorite one to haul in a slab is my Wally Marshall 10' with an Abu Garcia Cardinal 104 spinning reel spooled with 6lb. Sufix Elite mono.
10 ft B&M BGJB with Slabseeker reel from Zebco with Trilene XL 6 lb test.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.
8 ft. BnM Ultimate rod, 6720 Phlueger reel, Suffix 6 lb.
Berkley cherry is good the price around 20 bucks. Cubby rods are good just for panfish they come in 4 and half to 7 ft. they are hard to find/ Pfluger is good high buck

My very favorite combo for sliders or fishin deep (drop shot/tight line) or in heavy cover (pitchin a slip bobber) is a shimano clarus medium lite 6'2" with a 1000 shimano saros spooled with 6# p-line cx floresent green. If i want the line to be invisable to the fish I tie a length of 6# vicious florocardon with a back to back uni knot. (very soft tip lota back bone) casts very accurate!
I wish God would say Troy cast your jig on the other side of the boat.
last year me and my best fishing buddy that doesnt has much money went speck fishing at night he is 67 years old and lost his wife a couple of years ago.i told him we was going at night he said i was crazy that crappie didn't bight at night.now i have about 200 poles pricing from 5 dollars a pole to 180 dollars a pole put i respect my friend so i went and bought 6- 16 foot cane-poles i had to cut off about a foot so they wasn't so flimsy and rig them up cause i knew he was going to be useing cane poles two i picked him up about 10 o'clock at night and we used minnows and wind drifted the lake. that night in about 2 and a half hours we caught 196 crappie and ran out of minnows on 30 dollars worth of cane poles not only that night but on numerous nights so before you start swearing by your sam heaton or your b-m just remember you could be out-fished by a cane pole
The fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad
Sounds like a night to remember. But,I live in Arizona and 4 of your cane poles would probably cost me the same as 2 Sam Heatons by the time I got them shipped to me,lol.

i hear you but it is just a matter of personal preferences a 5 dollar fiberglass pole will catch a fish just like a 60.00 im6 graphite it just might not be as fun or look as good or professional
The fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad
