I've learned that sometimes the ugly jig catches the biggest fish.
I agree ShilohRed.After a couples heart attacks i learned to slow down and enjoy everything the Good Lord offers me.Theres nothing more peaceful than floating around in a boat in the spring or fall and looking and listning to the nature.
I have learned that once you think you have them figured out....they throw you a curve & you realize that you havent learned anything!![]()
I've learned, if you take the time to write it down, you'll remember what didn't work yesterday!
iV'E LEARNED THAT CRAPPIE JERKY IS PRETTY GOOD TOO.
When it comes to buying "stuff", whether it's ME and my fishing STUFF or my wife and her make-up, my recently passed grandfather said it best,
" A bargain ain't a bargain if you don't need it"
I have learned that catching a handful of fish that aren't even big enough to keep, while fishing with a child, is more fun than loading the boat with slabs, while fishing by yourself!!! There are few joys in life that will every measure up to watching a kid boat a fish!!!
I just read this post as it is thus far and I've learned that I'm a member of the smartest group of people I've ever been around. I've also learned that It doesn't take fish to make a great day, or to put a smile on my face. It is the pursuit of the fish and the friendships made along the way that give the satisfaction of time well spent.
Wake me up early,
Be good to my dogs,
and teach my children to pray.
I've learned that if i'm catching fish on a certain color jig, that when they stop hitting that color, use a diffrent color in the same style that was working before. More times than not, i've pulled a few more fish from the spot... even if they were smaller.:D
If you can't catch enough fish to eat in 2 hours, go home.
I have found that I know more about NOT CATCHIN than I do about Catchin
