I've used a bunch of different ones, and now have a box of them in the boat. I like the stick floats with a spring attachment for fixed, and the wally cheapies, with a twist, for slip. The twist is a peg in both ends, and the pegs have a hole in them. No groove ever been cut in those and they slip just fine. I don't use heavy line which might not work as well. My 2 cents.

Has anyone ever tried the "Rocket Bobber"?

Fishing Tackle for Bass Fishing, Trout Fishing, and more - The Rocket Bobber by Tackle 2000!

It seems to work on the same principle as what is described in the thread in the archives:

Have you ever used this for crappie?

Also, does anybdy here use the float n fly technique for crappie? What cork do you use?

I have been using slip floats for many years and have tried them all. These are the best I have found. Small eye so you do not have to use a bead and they hold up very well. One of the few things I like from Bass Pro. Bass Pro Shops Premium Balsa Slip Floats - Oval
