Patoka does have a very good bass population. They have lots of bass fishing tournaments at Patoka and do very well. The bass grow big enough to eat the Gizzard shad, until the shad get too big. Wish that Patoka had a warm water discharge going into one part of the lake to keep it warm in the winter. Maybe then threadfin shad could survive our long cold winters and help feed the crappie.

Thanks for the pictures GBoy. I am enjoying them.

Well, since you asked...here is the bait we used on one day!!! Hee hee...

But, you are right, the bass are amazing up there.....never saw so many of them come right out of the water and do some flips for you! Judging by the splash of some of these fish, they are monsters up there....I think the crappie population does need to be thinned out some in order for them to grow to be a good size.

I am glad you are enjoying them, I have a ton more, but most are of Middle GA people at the weigh-in, so I don't want to bore everyone with all that.
