Went out Sat. (Sept 18) and put in 4-5 hours with Honey as my anchor. We landed a bunch of fish ( 50 to 60) but only eight were keepers. Two of them were gooduns.
Most keepers were 11 to 12 inchers. We were fishing 8 to 12 feet water. Water temp bout 78 degrees. Water was clear and we had very little wind.
Sunday morning, we spent about 2-3 hours on the lake. Again got a bunch of dinks, but managed to keep 3 fish. Water temp still about 78 degrees. However, the river stage had dropped about 6 inches since Sat morning. Most fish were taken on minnows. I managed to tag a few with jigs rigged with white/chartruse tube, but I caught most fish on jigs tipped with minnows. For the most part, the bite was real soft. Water is clear for the most part. We basically had the lake to ourselves. There were a few "bank bangers" out, but no one in our neighborhood fishing for the gold.
Got to try out the new Lorance 102C sonar. Wow. Where have I been..I will make another post about it.
