Skip: I purchased three Blue Top SC34DM Optimas at Sam's Club for $155.82 each plus tax = $171.40 each. These are dated by a letter E and number 9 which is May 2009, according to the person who waited on me at Sam's. That means they were manufactured in May of 2009. Best price I have found.

Thanks for the info, but the 34 is the lowest priced blue top and is not what I am buying. You can even buy that battery direct from Optima for $169.99 and at batteries are us it's $143.95.

Well these guys have really got under my skin again and probably will not do business with them again.

Going to put a note on the main message too.

Just want everyone to knoe it took a month, but my batteries came today and I saved over $100 so I guess it was worth the wait since I am not fishing in this horrible heat.

Looks like we are finally going to get a little relief with lower temps soon and I am sure looking forward to days where the high is below 95 and more like 92 instead of the 100+ we have been having.

Anyone that ordered you just need to keep on them with calls and email every once in a while. I am not patient enough to not gripe when it's not as fast as it should be.

Maybe at your Sam's, but the ones I have been in didn't have the right ones.

My D31 is on its 7th year as a trolling battery. And that includes a year that it sat unused which is the worst thing you can do to a battery. It will still hold its charge all day even in constant use in windy conditions. It is definitely worth the bucks. The good thing is when you pay that much for a battery you tend to take care of it a lil better and keep it charged!

Default Need some help please with my Optima choice

I went to auto zone to buy an Optima just for my trolling motor and they sold me a yellow top D34-78. Is this the battery I need or do I need a blue top? I don't need one for the motor cause it's a pull crank type. I tried the web site but still can't figure it out.

    Thanks
