Thread: Fishing in baton rouge

Has anyone ever fished or heard of anybody fishing the lake at pennigton biomedical center in baton rouge. The lake is off of Perkins behind the pennigton building. My girl friends sister works there and gave me permission to fish, it looks about 8 acres or so, not much structure though. There is a boat launch. Any info would be great.

I never was lucky enough to know anyone to get permission.

I went to school behind Pennington about ten years ago so I got to watch them build all the buildings and the lake behind it. If I remember right they hauled in a lot of rocks for that lake. I have heard rumors they stocked it but don't know anything beyond that. I would think it would be pretty good fishing if you have to get permission to fish it.

nice looking lake. i heard that it was off limits but if you got permission, go for it. Let us know how you come out.

I heard there were some big fish in there/ bass and bream, but nobody ever fishes for them sacs you know? Not sure if it was stocked with crappie but i would give them a try
