I knock off of work at noon and Linda and I headed to Orange Grove. The wind made it very hard to fish. We did find a few though. The sac-au-lait was a female just about ready to lay and the goggle eyes were all big dark males.
The sac weighted in at 1 pound even the biggest goggle eye 9 oz. or 3/4 pound.
Some one was asking about the ripeness of the eggs, well here one thats very orange and bloody, thus just about ready. From this stage they get translucent and a brighter orange.

The fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad

Fishin' fills the time until College football season
Way to go, nice catch!
"Fletch had a catch of a lifetime and he was even standing up when he caught it!"
Really nice looking goggle eyes!
The fish are biting somewhere and here I am on the computer again...
Gene,
glad you and Mrs Linda got to get out on the water. Those are some good lookin' fish. Goggles are my second fav. fish to catch simply b/c of their aggresiveness, I'd hate to see if they had arms with fists. They are like ....gills with steroid rage.
Gonna have to google Orange Grove...never heard of it.
Anywho, glad yall had fun and caught some good'ns.
Adam
