A friend of mine from Napoleonville (20 mi north of Thibodaux) recently retired is at Toledo Bend this week. Staying at Pirates cove. I overheard some conversation at the watercooler that he and a couple of friends are torching the WP there. I was busy at the time but I WILL get all the details tommorrow and post'em...I will give him a call for a live report. Rog, give the boys a shout out for me at TL. I'll be up that way around the end of the month.
Thanks for the report, I may have to try and make a trip over there soon.. want to try the drifting technique instead of the long line trolling and see if it makes a difference... If you can get a more detail update, I would really appreciate it.

I can't leave now; They fixen to turn on.
They are fishing the Pirates Cove area at the Bend (south end out of Hornbeck). They were doing ok with jigs 2-3 ft under a cork in 4-6 ft of water until one of the guys started throwing a beetle spin and catching 3 to his 1. Go lite with 1/32 oz jig heads with "0" size Hilderbrant spinners gold or silver. Blue/White, Chart/Black, Blue/Chart jig are working. I believe in presentation over color so whatever your favorite jig color is needs to be tied on. Use very lite line like Berkleys Vanish line. That stuff is ideal for beetle spinning because it's very dense and it will go right on down. Reel in very slow (just fast enough for the blade to spin) is what they told me holding the rod up to "hold" the spinner while reeling in slowly. Anyway thats the report I got today. We just have to figure out a way to get over there to create our own report.....
Thanks for the update.. you can disregard the pm I sent you, you pretty much answered my question with your post... thanks again

report. That is about as detailed as one can get. I appreciate your taking the time to post.
I went and got a bunch of Road Runners last night. But all I could find was the 1/16 oz. I will have to make do.
