This bait I will be talking about is a 1 1/2" chucker rebel. One day I went fishing and it was extremely hot. I left this bait on the dashboard of my truck all day. When I came back from fishing I noticed it . It being plastic started to melt somewhat. I thought that it was ready for the trash. I put it in my tackle box and when spring came around and the Sacs were on the nest. I decided to throw it out next the a stump. That was the beginning of the best little top water crappie bait I have ever owned. That bait is over 40+ years. I don't fish it anymore. I am scared I will lose it. It has a real shape of a deformed minnow. I took 3 pictures of it to share remberance of the past.

Hey scoot, ain't it fun to re-live those memories. My favorite from the sixties is also a Rebel bait. It was the Rebel minnow made somewhat like the standard Repala minnow. It was silver with a purple back. The markings on the side were just like yours. I'd cast it right against the bank and twitch is slowly away from the bank. Then when it was about a foot or so out I would start swimming it radically towards the middle of the canal with a stop and go retrieve. Man I caught some sac-au-lait on that thing. I only owned one and took real good care of it. I once had a gator bite it leaving teeth marks all over it but was still able to use it. Its gone now to who knows where. Sure wish I had it to hang on the wall.

bet you could name your price for it
Cool deal.... I bet if you looked real hard, you could probably find a similar one to it to use.
You can't fish with a hung line!
You still can find those little chucker rebels around. The key to this bait was the sun melting it and giving it a deformed shape. I could find another one and put it in the oven but it will not come out the same.
