I hadn't planned on fishing this weekend because of the weather, but when I looked at the forcast saturday night for the Bundick's area, it showed 3-4mph winds and possible rain after noon, so Matthew and I made a trip sunday morning.. we got a late start because when I went to hook onto the boat my little truck got stuck in the yard because everything is so soft now with all the rain... we fished from about 9 til around 4 when the rain wouldn't let up. Fishing was real slow, but we managed to get a few good ones.. Ended up with 18 keepers and threw back about 10. Smallest one kept was barely 9 inches (Matt's first one he kept). The biggest one was about 15 inches. 3 biggest were 2lb1oz, 1lb9oz, and 1lb8oz.
Here is Matt with his biggest
Here I am with the my 2 biggest for the day.
here is the catch.
All the fish were caught in 15-25 fow fishing 12-18 feet deep.
Best color was blue head/blue and white tube "pumped" up.
Water was almost 2 feet higher than it normally is.. If you aren't familiar with the lake, you couldn't tell in this pic, but the old warf is usually almost 3 feet above the water level.

Slab Hunter
Hey JL, those are sure nice fish, but I'll tell you this. If I ever caught some that big I'd be grinning lilke the proverbial dog! How come you always look so grumpy when you are holding up one or two slabs? Smile, dangit - or at least grin like you are strutting your stuff.
Which you are doing, by the way!
So go do it again, but next time, SMILE! :D

Dang it Johnny! You sure know how to kick a guy when he is down (kind of like some one texting you while you are at work!). I didn't go this weekend b/c of the weather and Angie's B-day is today (Monday) and you go and pull out that 2 lber I have been waiting on!
Congratulations to you and Matt on tuffing it out though. :D It is still raining at my house.I may try Lacassine one day this week if I am not back to work yet. Where you trolling your area or the area I told you about? Looks like you were taking the pictures through a bag? They weren't as clear as your pictures normally are. Good that you were still able to get a few pictures even with the rain. Thanks for the effort.:D We appreciate it!:D

SMILE- A curve that can set a lot of things straight!
Johnny those big females look like they are getting close to busting their bellies. Nice catch for you and Mathew. Glad you were able to turn what looked like a bad week end into a good one. Thanks for the report and pictures. As far as the smile goes, that looks just like the Johnny.

Johnny, I am planning a trip to Bundicks sometimes this week. However I will be fishing shallow. Where is the best launch towards the north end of the lake. I know there is one by the bridge. Is there one toward the north end on the east side? Thanks and nice catch.
Johnny glad you caught some fish. Sorry you had to work so hard. I went for about 3 hrs. to Darbonne yesterday and didn't get a bite. Fished from shallow to deep without any luck...
