Hello everyone. just wanted to put the bug out there if anyone knows a group of young kids who were on Wallace lake this weekend. Please pass along this message .PUT YOUR FIRE OUT. DO NOT ASSUME IT IS OUT BE SURE OF IT. I spent the time i could have been fishing putting out a brush fire. no one ever says anything.About people camping on these properties. But this irresponsible act could cost alot in property damage had it reached someones home. I was just lucky enough to see the smoke and come to see after the boat load of kids almost flipped my peroje as they came past me on the channel. I just couldnt get there quick enough be fore it got to, a pile of old crossties and under brush. I understand they are just kids and they want to have fun i have had my fair share of good times out there myself, but there is a whole lake full of water next to you . There is no good reason not to put your fire out. I have been fishing this lake for as long as i can remember and i dont want to see the woods around it go up in smoke. SO PLEASE ! IF ANY ONE KNOWS OF THESE KIDS PLEASE HELP TO EDUCATE THEM IN THE PREVENTION OF WILDFIRES thank you for your time. Brushy top
Thanks for your concern. Hope the right people read this link.

Brushy top,
Since it is a flood control lake under the Corps of Engineers these kids really need to be more on their toes before the Corps clamps down and rules Camping only in designated areas.
Then when the kids have lost another of their "rights" and are denied access to a lot of their own land by their own foolishness then and only then might they wake up.

Glad you were in the right place at the right time...and concerned enough to put it out. I almost had one get away from me one time and it's amazing how fast it can spread. Wind blows a spark and the chase is on!
I hope they learn to be responsible before it's too late.
Just one mistake of STUPID can everone not to be able to go out
there anymore, glad you were in the right spot at the right time.

Good Job on the fire prevention, something terrible could have happened... Everyone should preach to their kids about the dangers of an unattended fire.. Thanks for being concerned enough go check on it.
You can't fish with a hung line!
