laserdoc, popular because these are close to the color of the crawfish in the bayous which the Sac-au-lait really, really like at this time of the year!

Thats exactly why but please dont post any more pics dont need everyone knowing.lol We make our own some that color most a little darker with brown, and red but same idea. Make some real dark and some a little lighter as crawfish change colors throughout the year. Its the best baits in during the spawn down here but most people dont realize it and theres not much on the market that resembles crawfish very much. Crawfish is probably 75 percent or more of our fishes diet down here from January through april and even beyond in some areas such as the spillway. Every copies crawfish when bass fishing(jig and pig---brushhog--pacacraw etc) but not as much for crappie. There loss my gain how I look at it. Unfortunately you will never see me posting a pic of ours on here because my dad makes them and he would cut off my supply if I did
Another good thing about fishing crawfish color baits is that when the water is real cold and fish are slugging you can break of some night crawlers and put little pieces on and it doesnt take away from the look of the bait but can help a lot on a slow day especially in colder, dirty water
I'll tell you why....
