What do you all think? The crappie that move under docks, are they spawning or are they staging? If you think about it there is hardsly any sunlight under there, isn't sunlight a requirement the crappie needs for a bed? I am just not sure. Or are the docks the staging grounds for the crappie to go up even shallower and spawn? Just thought i would get your opinions? Thanks

. I think that you find them mostly under the docks when it is hot out. They like a bit cooler water and the shade so they can wait for a minnow to swim by. Also they like the structure that it provides. SO I would think staging and just hanging out is a better choice than spawning. They have to have that 2 foot of water on the banks. I use this jig with great success on the docks I fish

I don't fish docks, but I would think it serves kinda like a cypress tree in the water does.. provides shade for them and structure where they can get out of the wind/current, I have always done better on the down stream side of stucture when fishing for them.
You can't fish with a hung line!

The white perch like to get under the docks and piers because
they like it dark,I found this out when I had a camp over at
lake Murvaul the darker it is the better they like it there,so all
of my neighbors put tin around their boat houses to make it dark
for the white perch.Call me and I will tell you more 925-4721 or 518-5971

    Happy fishing,Tree Fishing

Tree Fishing you must be from the Carthage area. I worked a lot up in that area for about a year, some nice lakes up there.
I agree with the shade more than anything.
