Folks, I have an opportunity to buy a slightly used Progator 154S. Anyone out there ever owned one that can tell me the pros/cons of it? I'll most likely buy it anyway because I think it's a good deal, but would like to know what to expect if you have any advice. Thanks in advance.
Here it is....I think it looks great in the pic considering it's about 15 yrs old (but barely used), but I go check it out this weekend.

Never had one of those, but one of the first things I look at is the transom.
Then the hull, underneath and internal.
I sure hope it looks alright and you can get it. Good luck.
I can't leave now; They fixen to turn on.
ProGator is a well built boat. I have a 1999 ProGator 170 DV bass boat that I bought new in '99. I have had absolutely ZERO problems with it!
Never owned one, but looks good for it's age. I would check the transom thought like Deacon stated...
"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."
Definetely check out the transom and make sure you don't have any leaks. I haven't owned one but that is a sharp looking boat.

Looks good Scott. I think a test drive is in order...

One of, if not the best crappie boat out there. Not the fastest or smoothest riding thing on the water but will get you there and back safely. I have owned 2 and both were great fishing boats. The gator people used to warranty the hull forever and are good people to work with. If the price was anywhere close I would not hesitate to buy this boat.
One of the best made boats out there.
But definitely check it out. A terrible owner can make a good boat bad.
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn. ~Chuck Clark
Thanks for the feed back everyone. I've known the owner's daughter 15 yrs, so I'm comfortable taking them at their word about the history. The seller bought it, took it out about 10-12 times throughout the years, and used the trolling motor more than the outboard. He's kept it covered and under a carport when not in use, and starts it regularly to make sure everything's still working. I'm looking forward to getting out there Sunday to check it out.
Looks good scott,,I would change the bearings out,,I had one go out on me,,not fun when your at a landing.
