    Default old river 2-26-09

No work today so me and bro in law hit the river and managed a few fish. Hopefully the big girls will follow these boys into the cypress garden.
Caught 60 sacalait. Better half was 9-11" fish with a couple of fatties in the mix. Biggest two were 13 and 14". A stinkin no good bass and a couple nice bream. All caught in 2' of water or less on blue jigs tipped w/ white nibbles around knees. First time using a hand tied jig and I think I like it....just don't like putting those nibbles on, but they wouldn't have mattered today anyways.

    The bucket:

Sorry for the crappy camera phone pics. I got a new camera yesterday and have some better pics where you can really see their sunday's bests and bloody feet, but I guess I have to buy a card reader, cus I can't figure this fancy shmancy thing out.

Looks like y'all had quite a day Adam. Congrats to you and B-I-L and thanks for the report and pictures even if they are a little "crappie". By the way what are you calling "Old River"?

Wouldn't it be kinda hard to use the bait pump with "hand tied jigs"?

Hey Adam, my brother isn't going to be able to make the trip tomorrow. He will be in Metarie for the day but I will get the pictures of his boat to you the next time we get together.
