    Awesome Doc.

With a rig like that , you have to recycle the oil. How do you clean it and store it between fish frys.

katjon, it depends on who youi ask. some folks tell me that they drain it and strain it after every use. others tell me that they leave it in the fryer and just shut the lid after they use it. i think i will just leave it on the patio and keep the lid closed and the baskets in the kitchen. it holds 8.5 gallons of grease, so i won't be replacing the oil all that often.

on another note, i went to academy this evening to get some oil and here is what i found. the peanut oil was $30+ for 3 gallons and the cottonseed oil was $29 for 4.6 gallons. and the great thing abouit cottonseed oil is it does not transfer the taste from one thing to another. i highly recommend it for these type cookers.

    Default got one myself

I got one ofthose myself it has two fryers in it not three. Never use it too much but my father in law keeps it at his camp. The oil doesnt burn in them because they are set up to where the leftover fish fry etc goes into an area in the bottom.(supposed too) never used mine enough to really keep oil for several months in it as it says you can

    Doc,
I found the same thing and I tried the cottonseed oil, but I don't like the flavor. It makes the fish taste oily, where peanut oil does not.
