Smile The Few, The Proud, The Crappie

Went yesterday morning in the wind. Thought the trip was not going to get started when I dropped the trolling motor in the water hit the button and nothing happened. I pulled it back up and nothing. Checked the wiring to the battery and had a good connection. Looked at the connections on the foot pedal and everything seemed to be connected ok. Put it back in the water hit the button and worked fine. Don't really know what was wrong. Never gave me anymore problems. The fish didn't bite for me like they did the last time I went. I only ended up with 7 fish for the day. All caught about 9 1/2 ft. deep in 10-13 ft of water. Caught on blk/chart. and Bobby Garland Blue Grass baby shad style bait except for 1 caught on Cajun Cricket. No one fishing around me was catching a lot of fish. Hopefully the next trip will be better, but I had a good time and that will be a good mess of fillets for me as I am the only one at home that eats fish. I know everyone wish I would just shut up and post the pictures....

    Default Hey Rick!

Hey Bud, I feel your pain. Only problem is I dropped my trolling motor in the water and ....NOTHING! I checked every connection and the "battery monitor" on the trolling motor itself shows my batteries fully charged so I know juice is getting to it. I played with it for near an hour while getting blowed around darbonne in Stowe creek Tues. still nothing. I have this psychological thing about getting skunked so I was determined. I tied up to 3 different channel markers on the side of the creek before finally finding one with a few fish on it. I caught 5 nice fish on a pink/chart jig and a small jig/spinner combo. That was all I could do and it was hard fishing but considering the circumstances I felt ok about it. After getting home tried everything with the trolling motor still haven't figured it out. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks, Brian.

    Wink Me too!

Last couple trips that I had, my trolling motor was acting up, but found out the plug from the foot control was loose.
Need a new plug, but just took my knife and cleaned and tightened it.
Still working as of last trip.
