made our once a every 2 or 3 year trip to larto and didnt catch none...sun was supposed to stay out but it didnt and thats what messed up the trip...water temp was only 55-58, with sun it woulda warmed up to 62-64....plus we had hurricane winds...thats why they call it fishing and not catching

we was there yesterday...lol, you must be a good sacalait fisherman, we sacalait fish prolly one time a year, rest of year we BASS fish, ........we was in a dead end canal not far from where the lake splits etc...good many people up in the canal and wasnt noone catching anything...some odd acting guy was at the landing we put in it he said they been catching them around that point but man u need a ship to fish in all that wind(think he was full of it)....i wont be going to larto anymore because it is just too far but its a very nice looking lake and i think them sacalait will be on them banks as soon as that water hits around 63-65 degrees....
I hate to hear that your trip was a bummer, the wife and I are probably gonna take a ride up there next thursday night and fish it friday(3-7-09) and we are planning on hitting the banks, hopefully we can get on some good fish, but regardless, its a beautiful lake and its just nice to get away from the house for a day or so.... better luck next time.
You can't fish with a hung line!
i was out there today around open bayou, me and duckman only managed to land one. Didn't miss any either. i was fishing a black and chartreuse jig and he was fishing a shiner. this wind was very bad. saw alot of boats but the couple we talked to weren't doing so hot either
There has gotta be a fish right there! PRO!
