Was wondering if any of you deep crappie fisherman out there could give me any tips on getting the deep crappie out of Darbonne? Like how and the heckdo I get those light crappie jigs down so deep? just let them drift down. Seems like the get midway and just float there. what setup should I use for fishing deep crappie?

Let's go fishing.
Tie 4 of them together! :D lol Or you can just add a split shot like they said.

I'm not good at giving advice b/c I'm not always confident in what I'm doing but I will tell you what has been working for me.
I'm just getting used to it and my version of deep water fishing is prob not the same as others. 30-40' is the deepest I've fished b/c thats the deepest water I've had the oppurtunity to fish.....or that I saw was worth fishing as far as structure is concerned. I've just learned to watch my line closely. I'm still not sold on high vis. line. I just stopped using green braid b/c I felt it might be slowing my bites. So with mono, when I'm losing site of my surface line, i watch it coming of my reel...if it stops, I click the bail and feel for tension. No tension, I unclick the bail and let it go again. If I don't get a bite b/f bottom time, I slowly work it back up. It's a drawn out process, but it works once you've figured out where they are. Just figure out their depth and compare that with the length of your pole if they're biting deeper than the length of your pole and come up with a system of putting it back in that same spot every time. It's always better, FOR ME, to underestimate that biting point than to overestimate it. Look at their eyes, especially at this time of year, and you'll see why. The most important thing for me is to relax. I have a hard time tuning out my day and it takes a while. My cell is my sons hand at any given moment, so I'm always on edge, but I've found that when I get zoned out in the scenery, my touch becomes very sensitive.....as corny as that may sound.
Try fishing with someone who is a veteran of the area you are fishing, but more importantly, someone who is a good person that you can develop a fishing friendship with.
Ask my opinion about fishing the spawn next year.....I'm gonna try to learn that this year.
But you're def. better off sending some private messages to some of these guys you see who spend time working those deep waters.

I am with Dwyane, use 4 jig rigs, then you don't have to be at the exact depth, you can cover 4 depths at one time, and wait til you feel the thump, just give it a little bob every now and then.
You can't fish with a hung line!
