Thread: oops! yo yo ing Iatt tonight

I baited up tonight.Did not catch a thing at dark plenty of people on the lake tonight,temp just right.We got two campfires going at the landing.Going back to check em shortly.

its almost 11:30 pm no bite,ive got 2 another boats got 4 and im waiting for 3 more boats to make it back to landing to get their catch numbers.Its a great night for a campfire and we got a real nice one burning at the landing.Still got hope for a big bite before rain moves in Sunday.

The first post i ran home for supper.The second ran home for coffee refill.I live near Hides Landing.It was a great night to be by the campfire,not so great fishing.This mornings all wet and cloudy.

My plans for baiting up again this even have got changed.I got a Momma dog have puppies.She has 4 last time i looked and was still in labor.I might bait up later,if all the pups get here before too late.This here first time having pups so i got to watch her close,you never know when you going to have to make one of the expensive mid night vet visits when whelping in process.

They didn't bite for us on saturday night either. It totally shut off saturday afternoon. We may have caught 8 from 4-12 and didn't have any hanging this morning. It was a nice night for a camp fire though!!

My lab had puppies a few months ago. She wasn't even a year old so it was a surprise. She ended up only having four. That will be her one and only litter though. She had to have her right front leg amputated a couple of weeks ago and I don't know if she could handle all that now.

HHC, I have to give you one thing, You have alot of patience waiting on them to turn on at Iatt. Hopefully one of these days You will get you a good mess of them. I know after the last 5-10 times you were out there and didn't hardly catch anything, I would have done chose a different lake to fish for them.

Where at on the lake are yall yoyoing? We only really use one landing there for work, and I've only been on the water once out there so far. I believe the one we use is on the very south end of the lake.

I had a good catch a couple weeks back,it was a perfect night,just before a front moved in the next morning.I haven't fish much the last few weeks.Mostly hibernating--planned on going to you all s fish fry but when i got off at 3.30 that Friday it was pouring down rain and cold--not weather to bring the family out in. .Sorry to hear about your Lab 05.I have maybe 5 or 6 pups whelped right now,and i think she is still in labor.Its going to be a long night,im not baiting up.Im setting on the porch for the most part,listening to the sounds in the whelping box--The less noise the better--when pups aint comfortable they whine ALOT.The pups are still wet,but i think i might have a bluetick in the bunch. Most of the year i eat alot of fish out of Iatt,dont expect no big catch now---but just wait to the spawn and soon the bass will turn on----then it will get hot and ill be bringing my 6 yr old fishing buddy who will be 7 then,To catch them bream.Then it will get real hot and ill be standing in the sun cooking,while my then 7 yr old fishing buddy reels in them big shellcrackers!Then it want be long to i go back to jerking them perch over the grass beds.---Now its yo yo time again!

man--all this talk of puppies takes me back to last year at this time. my irish setter ruby had puppies on 17 january. she had a bunch of puppies. 11 little red puppies. i am attaching some pics of them. i know this has nothng to do with crappie fishing, other than ruby goes with me sometimes to catch them. all the puppies were healthy and happy. my daughters sure do miss them. we want to have another litter in another year or so.
