Even though this is sticky topic in the main section of the forum I got a call from a angler this morning asking that I post the tournament information on the state site as well. Here is the latest.
The Tournament plans for the first annual $21,000 Texoma Crappie Challenge are moving right along. A full page ad will appear in the March and April editions of Crappie World Magazine. We have teams registered from Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Texas so far. I am hoping teams from other parts of the country participate after the Crappie World ads come out. Still looking for tackle donations as giveaways. Anyone donating tackle will be listed on the flyers and website for your donations.
Gander Mountain is distributing 20,000 flyers throughout their regional stores. We are also distributing flyers at the upcoming Boating and Outdoor shows in Oklahoma and Texas.

I was asked also what size crappie should be expected to be caught out of Lake Texoma here are a few photos:

Lake Texoma is famous for it's Awesome Striper Fishing. There is very little pressure put on the Crappie population. After this tournament I believe that will change. More information to follow as it becomes available.
Thanks T. I made a post about it soon after we talked on the phone and I'll do it again when we get closer to the time. You have done an awsome job raising the cash. It pays as good or better than many national tournaments. I'm planning of being there if I can get qualified for the Crappie masters classic on Ross Barnnet or Grenada If not I'm going to fish the Sardis touney as its that weekend. Several buddys on this board have been interested in comming your way though. Also some freinds from south Texas are going to be there with you for sure.
Sure its ok to post this type stuff here anytime. Its about Crappie fishing so its not spam. I've not seen Spam, off topic, jokes or anything removed here since LABill stopped reading so keep it comming. Don

For those of you looking for more info on Texoma...especially with the upcoming tournament in June '08:
B'n'M Pro Staffer Wes Belcher has an article published on the B'n'M website about fishing Texoma in March...other great articles there as well:

A member of the Texas Fishing Forum posted this catch his wife made March 4th on Lake Texoma. The Crappie was 16 3/4" and it weighed 2.9lbs. After the June Crappie Tournament people will realize catching that size Crappie is not unusual.
The Tournament information is a sticky topic on the main board.

Good looking fish and a pretty gal. Texoma has pleanty gooduns for sure! I don't doubt the fish but thats the first time I've seen a girl fish with Diamonds, a white shirt, who didn't have "hat hair". Maybe she visited the beauty shop before posing, hahaha. Don
Maybe his wife is like mine where all she wants to do is cast, jerk, and reel....I bait the hook...I take the fish off...I clean the fish...I cook the fish..... I load/unload the boat.....starting to think I got a raw deal!
Nice fish in that pic though!
There was a fish in that picture?? just kidding, good looking combination, pretty woman with a dang nice fish. Congrats to her.
You can't fish with a hung line!
I have received calls and emails recently concerning the tournament and connection with the folded Crappie Angler Sportman Tour (CAST).
Here is my response:
This event is not in anyway affliated with Crappie Angler Sportsman Tour (CAST). In the initial planning of this event, CAST agreed to participate by bringing their equipment for the weigh-in. Since the CAST tour has folded I have secured other avenues for the weigh-in. Be assured THIS EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE!!
The tournament website has been updated to include a few of the recent catch reports. The Team Roster has been added back to the site. If you would like to activate your team roster button with your team profile please forward a photo and bio. Thanks to all who have registered so far, keep talking up the tournament. I guarantee everyone will have a great time with all the planned activities and leave with plenty of goodies. Gander Mountain is planning a special treat for all the registered teams. www.texomacrappie.com
