Thumbs up Before (cold & windy front) Caddo 12/22/07

This is Rod & Reel (R&R) doing the first post on Kingfisher's Computer. Been a while but hope the pictures turn out ok. Me & Kingfisher went to Caddo today and we got a late start (about 2 hours late). When we got there we had about 8 or 9 real nice Crappie, and then all He.. broke loose. It started storming, raining (thank God for "FROG TOGGS") wind gusts up to 40 mph+, and we finally got tired of fighting the wind. Our trolling motor was on "5" and dead into the wind it was blowing our boat backward, dragging the anchor. Need I say more (everybody has been in this position before 10-4). We absolutely left biting fish, but could not beat the elements. But we did manage a nice mess of quality fish all 11-16" fish. Several over 2 lbs. It's a good thing me & Kingfisher believe in (and I know most all you CDC members do also) throwing back "ALL" fish under 10" (and we threw back about 15-18). Guess what when we pulled our boat out of the water, the "BOGGY MAN" was waiting on us, and others. He was holding up a fish under 10" that a man or his 10 year old daughter had caught, and he found it in their livewell. While he was writing them a ticket, he hollered out at us "Ya'll don't go nowhere til I check your livewell. I said "no problem", because of our believing of not keeping small fish. When he looked in our cooler, I said "you won't find no fish in that box under 10", and sure nuff he didn't. Now we are waiting for a report from "GREEN SHINER", as he was heading straight down to him as Shiner was pulling his boat out of the water. Hey "SHINER", everyone is waiting for a report (did you pass ?) hehehe Later R & R :D :D

You guys earned every one of those slabs. It must have been really tough fishing conditions. I guess that you were around Johnsons Ranch. Nice catch on a tough day.
:D Bought too cheap and kept too long!!!!:D

Yea, my fish good enough to pass GW inspection...but my buddy got hit for no license! End of a bad day for him since he only caught 1 to my 17. All quality fish of course!
    All whites.
Used shiners today in 15 ft about 13 down and man them big ones felt like stumps when ya hit'em hard!
I was amazed at the size of this shad I took from fish while cleaning.
This shad came from a monster thick 17" slab like Kingfisher is holding, 4 1/2-5 inches long.Name: DSCN2397.JPG

Sorry no fish pics, it was to cold and too late for me, but I had to take one of this baitfish.

Congrats on the catch. Some real Hawgs there. By the gw checking chests, that says yall were on the Texas side, Uncertain or Johnson's? Either way, it sounds like Caddo was producing some more good quality fish yesterday. Thanks for the pics and the report.

And GS, with shad that sized, you wouldn't think them little shiners would even be attractive to them....lol
