Thread: Black Lake Water (Campti)

Whats the water looking like out there? I really want to get back out ther and do some jackfish fishing upstream of the stretch.

Anyone know if its drawn down, clear, and cold up there? If it is my and my buddies are going jackfishin' this weekend!

I haven't been there in almost 2 months, but according to the water at Black Bayou, it should be coming up. I talked to a local expert a week ago (while we were fishing BB) and he said he hadn't caught over 12 crappie up there on Black Lake this year and he lives just a couple of miles from there. He didn't say how the water looked, just how he couldn't catch fish there.

Anyone been to the highway 9 bridge lately? I might be headed that way soon if the water is clear and not too high. Also I did not really ask, but did that drain the lake this year aswell?

If the water is not high and brown at highway 9 I bet its worth the drive down to fish Jackfish up past the stretch.

Any recent water reports from around those parts?

Yea Markham they drained it again this year. This is the last of 3 years in a row draining it, Clear Lake and Black Bayou. All of this is drained thru the BB dam. Sorry I didn't put this on the first post, I thought you knew it was being drained. I haven't heard anything about water color up there though.
