Default Vacation day at the Red

Took a vacation day yesterday to try and beat the front coming thru today. Caught only 1 female and you can see that she was full of eggs. Orange/chart pepper (bet ya'll tired of hearing that! LOL!) at 2-5 ft deep in 2-7 fow. Beautiful day except for the wind. Fished from daylight till 2:30. Slow bite but fun.

Good mess of fish Skipper. Congratulations! By the way, where did you get that little wire thing that connects your line to your jig? I like that!

Those are Fas Snaps Pastor, available at Cabelas or Bass Pro or many other places. Not too long back someone posted a link to a china source where they were really cheap. I'll try to find it. I use them all the time.

Here is a link to a discussion about them and sources.

It's like Gene said, "No Knot Fas-Snap". I've been using them close to 25 years. Alot better than resetting the horizontal cinche or palamar knots. It's also way better than tieing directly to your line, cause you don't have to retie like you do for a loop knot after a few fish. I use the Large, but as you can see, they aren't large by any means. Any smaller and I can't see the eyes in them. A little expensive at $12 for 30, but if you don't loose it, you can use 1 all season. It increased my fish intake when I started using them by at least 25%. Old fellow I used to fish with would use them when we were fishing together while I tied the horizontal knots. He was catching 3-1 on me using the same bait in the BACK of the boat. I changed.
