Default Lafouche Lake 2-9-2018 and 2-12-2018

I purchased a new camp back in December on Lafouche Lake near Columbia, La. on the north side of Bouef WMA. I had some additions and remodeling done and just moved in about 3 weeks ago. I have been working constantly on it, putting up stuff on the walls and placing everything. I told my wife, the next time I go, I'm bringing my boat.

I got there on Friday at around 2pm and hit the water at 3. My first fish was a whopper. I was spider rigging shiners about 10 ft deep. There were about 10 boats around me and they were all catching pretty good. From what I could tell, they were mostly using small jigs.

I ended up with 22, but kept 14 fish that were 10" or more. I had 4 really big fish. I took a pic while they were in a blue bucket, but it didn't come out well.

Then, the storm blew in Friday nite and turned REAL COLD. I didn't get back onto the lake until Tuesday morning. It was still pretty cold and I only caught 4 or 5, but I did manage to catch a 2lb 2oz slab. Here are a few pics.

That's some pretty water. Most of ours is very muddy.
    Tell'em I'll be there.

I have fished that body of water many times in my younger days. Lots of good fish in it. Congratulations on your catch!

Good catch Dapet. I live here in Columbia, LA. I just might see you out there sometime.
I fish 7 days a week; some days for fish, everyday for men.
