    Default Palmetto Suprise Fish 1/27/2015

I thought I had a big choupique and was kinda bummed after a long fight until he was ready for the net. It was a big bass that weighed 7.25 lbs and went 20" long. I was shocked when that big mouth came up to the net. A good size fish for the light crappie tackle.Name: 7.25x21bass.jpg

Only had 9 sacs which was down from the last couple of trips. The ones with the eggs seem full like spring is near. I think I'll be done over there and start thinking about spawning time. Might be early but they might too.

Bobby Garland baby shad. Color was "Blue Brass". I never try for bass so it was just dumb luck.

Did it take you on a sleigh ride in the yak? I bet that was fun.

It sure did and there was a guy on the bank who watched the whole thing and guessed the exact weight. Hard to believe the state record is twice as big.

I see you reference Palmetto, is that Palmetto state park in Vermilion parish you are referring to?
