    Smile Black Bayou, Hosston-3-15-10

John and I went to Black Bayou today expecting to rip them with the stable temps and no rain. I caught one after about 5 minutes and for most of the rest of the day I spent catching yearling bass. We did manage to keep 6 nice crappie though. I don't know how many of those little yearling bass I wound up catching, but a bunch. LOL. We tried a bunch of different color jigs and different water from the middle of the lake all of the way to the bank. The crappie just had lockjaw I guess. Here are a couple of pics. The ugly guy is John. LOL.:D:D Water temp at lunch was 58.9.

    Thumbs up

Sweetness! Nice fish! I like those spawning colors. Myself and my Dad will try your favorite lake tommorow, Cypress. I'll post the results when the damage is done!

There are two things to aim for in life: First, to get what you want; and after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind achieves the second. Author unknown, but I like it!

Pastor, I don't know I agree with your assessment of John, but the fish are pretty. They sure have wide bodies and broad shoulders. Nice pictures.

Your right Johnny, the yearling bass help to keep your spirits and hopes up between the crappie. The Lord is truly good to us.

PawPaw Gene, I gave those fish to John so I didn't get to weigh them but thet were the same size of fish that we caught last Friday; between 1-1.25 pounds.

Man I can't believe ya'll didn't hammer em.I figured the bite was on and sustainable for the next few weeks . I have been at work since Sat. just knowing that people were catching them by the boat fulls. They must be waiting on that 90mph wind to start blowing before they start eating again! Ha Ha Oh well at least ya got to go and catch some. They gonna bust loose any day now I just know it.
