    Default Game Wardens are out

If it could go wrong for me this weekend it did....First I had to work...after work I went to Lake Murval in TX, backed the boat in the water, went to start it...the key was already on and the batteries were dead. I pulled out of the water, started the generator on the motorhome and charged the batteries.
Away I went, the fishing was slow and the fish short, I did manage a few keepers (16).
When I decided to head in...around 11:00pm the boat wouldn't start and I am on the lake alone.....I did have a paddle and had to use it all the way back to the launch.....maybe 1/3 of a mile.
While loading the boat I managed to drop a brand new 36 LED light into the water...can you say goodbye to $136.00?
I charged the batteries and and fished again Sunday morning....guess what I saw.......a pull cord on the motor....I pulled it once....yip, the motor started.
I guess I should have looked LOL...never had a bit of trouble out of the motor so I didn't remember it was there.
THEN I MET THE GAME WARDEN
show me your license, a life vest, a throw device, and a fire extinguisher, and don't forget to let me count and measure your fish.
First offence for an undersize crappie is 107.00 PER FISH...lucky I only had one.....I could have sworn it was 10 inches...on his device it was only 9 3/4.
I got to visit the court house this morning.

Isn't it great to have a size limit on fish so they can collect a little more of your hard earned money. Glad La. doesn't have that law yet tho a lot of people want it.

Daniel, we can't ever fish together LOL you have my kind of luck we need to stay far apart. LOL. I have a lot of trips like that but you always have something to keep the guys laughing when the fishing gets slow. Better luck next time.

Well Daniel if I would have went with you wouldn't have caught any fish so that would have saved you a trip to the court house

I have to tell all of you I was Laughing at myself....I left the key on last trip out, I knew I had a pull cord, I just forgot it....the whole time I was paddeling in I was thinking...this will teach me to turn off the switch and check the batteries before I go out.....and the BAM the fact I was that stupid hit me all at once.
The part about the game warden wasn't funny though....I threw back 50 to 60 fish that were to small to keep in TX that would have been good eating....I just missed the mark when I measured that fish......
When I went to pay the fine I said I wanted to throw myself on the mercy of the court for being to dumb to read a tape measure, then I said I was dislexic and thought 10 was 01...the reply.....instead of the fine being 107.00 it was 701.00....Ok I'm not really dislexic LOL.

Reminded me of the old song Junior Samples and Grandpa Jones used to sing on Hee Haw; "If it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all." Of course you may not be old enough to remember Hee Haw. Anyway, better luck next tie.
