There were a lot of boats on the water and I hope everyone did better than me. Put in at the highway2 bridge and didn't go far from there. Only caught 2. There were several others there having the same luck I had. fought the wind all day. Did anyone catch any anywhere else on the lake?
i was down below the spillway got 18 12"and over. the wind was bad there to.john
Camo, do you put in on the Downsville side? Can you put a boat in with a two wheel drive truck? Jim
Rudd fishing
FF, i have only been to Darbonne twice, and both times I caught good across the lake from the spillway launch to the right of that cut. actually there are two cuts and where I am talking about is inbetween them.
You can't fish with a hung line!
I drove down there Saturday morning, doesn't look real safe to me. Although there were people putting in. I just wasn't about to drive my truck out in 4 ft of water not knowing what was down there. Launch is submerged. The guy in front of me put in and his muffler went about a ft under. I'll be down there once it gets closer to 30 ft.
Fished around Stowe Creek from daylight till about 10:30. Caught 3 fish in 10fow just off the bottom. Hard fighting that wind.
Laughin if you are ever at Darbonne from now to May and the wind is out of the north don't put in at the spillway. The waves are horrible.
Went back this afternoon it was dead only got two keepers. you still can put in without getting your back tires in the water. but it is getting soft at the water edge. one thing you need is a long rope there is no place to beach a boat while you find a parking spot. Tempers can flare when you got the lunch block with your boat while you go and park maybe at the top of the hill some people just don’t have there stuff together. a 50’ rope and a pair of rubber boots is what you need down there. The game warden was checking for life jackets today one fellow got a ticket. john
