Thread: Port o Bist 3/14/10

Hit the port again with friend of mine. Basically fishing same area I fished Friday. Not nearly as hot and heavy and a lot of small fish. We stopped around 1pm with 50. Instead of jumping in the boat like they did a couple days ago, I had to work for them. Most in about 12 feet, but a few in deeper water. Must have thrown back 30 small crappie. Met a fellow CDC member Southernshooter (hope I got the handle right). He was a nice gentleman and we got to visit a bit.

Congrats on the catch... May not be jumping in the boat, but a limit by 1 is impressive. At Larto last sunday, it took me from 6:30 am to 6:30pm to get a limit.. Talk about wore out and stiff by the end of the day... Thanks for the report and stay on them.

I love to hear stories like that drjay. You sat here and told everyone when, where and how and then you went back and caught some more. Which only proves that sharing info with others isn't all that bad. Thanks for the picture and report. Those 2 you're holding are nice.

I didn't do as well; I quit at noon and had kept about 10. Like Jay said there was a lot of smaaller fish. I gave my fish to an older gentleman and two women that only had about 6fish; they were tickled pink. Jay was nice enough to offer me some shiners; I should have been smart enough to take them, LOL. The man at the little store said he's not selling shiners now. Jay it was good to meet you and put a face with a name; maybe next time we'll fill the boat.
