I hit the Port at daylight. For the first few hours I fished close to launch and picked up about ten, medium size. There was no bite in the center of the channel (15-20 fow). I figured it was just a matter of moving towards the banks until I found some fish. That depth for me was 12 feet. I found a tree lined bank and just went back and forth. From daylight till about 9:30 I had ten fish. From 10 till noon I added forty and stopped with a limit of 50 perch.
Did not catch a trash fish the whole time!! All fish came on shiners spider rigging. Deepest fish I caught was in 13.5 and shallowest in 10.9. Everytime the sonar hit 12 feet I caught a fish (usually multiple fish). No giants, but a dozen or so creeping towards two pounds. All plenty big to filet. Water was high and muddy with some current. Temps in low sixties.
If anyone wants to go, here is my exact location: Pull out of port and hang a left toward main lake. After about 1/4 mile the channel opens up to big area with some boat houses/piers on left. There is a big red/orange boat house on that side. Go to opposite bank across from that red boat house towards the trees until you hit 12 feet deep. Then just paralell the bank trying to keep boat in that depth ( it will move in and out, but not too hard to stay on it). I suspect this will work on any part of the channel, this is just where I lucked up and found a few. I will likely be there again Sunday morning. Hope it works for you,
Pics when I clean them tomorrow,

There are two things to aim for in life: First, to get what you want; and after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind achieves the second. Author unknown, but I like it!
I'm glad someone is catching some fish, congrats to you.
A Bad Day of Fishing is Better Than a Good Day of Work!
Does anyone know if the state park launch is open. I live in south bossier and the last time me and my wife went to launch it was closed.
