    Default D'arbonne question

I know when the crappie leave the channel to spawn they go to the shallows. but i've never fished the spawn mainly because i'm new to crappie fishing. I've been told to fish shallow 1-2 feet with jig on bobber near cypress trees. is there certain places on the lake where they go or just look for shallows or flats and go from there? when they left the channel i'm lost where to fish. thx in advance. give me some pointer camo john.LOL

You asked for my opinion this is what I do. when the males go to the bank or in 5’fow or less I got just one rod in my boat my search rod that a falcon 6’ spinner bait special with a full grown spinner bait tied on. casting underhand (you don’t wont the bate making a big splash ) remember your catching 1.5lb fish on the average they will nail it as hard as a bass. The only time I use a cork is when they out in a little deeper water. this time of the year you have to cover a lot of water to find them. With this arthritis In my right arm I may have to go ultra- lit with a curly tail. The only problem with them they got to run true if not the fish will not touch them. hope this info will not leave you thinking why did I ask him. john

You will probably get much better advice than I can give, but when I used to fish D'Arbonne a lot I always found that when the fish first left the channel they would stage in the flats that had standing timber with 10-13 feet of water. The fish stayed in those flats and moved into the bank and back out again until the spawn was over. I usually caught more fish fishing the flats than I did fishing the banks. Good luck. I hope this will help a little.
